Getting around by bike

On foot

Sopot is spread over narrow area and it is the fastest way to reach most places on foot. In the centre a few streets are accessible only to pedestrians and amenities located there can be reached on foot only. Moreover there are many walking trails in the forest above the town and a comfortable promenade (with a cycle lane aside) along the beach.

By bike

Riding a bike is popular in Sopot, especially during warmer months. New cycling paths are being built, and on most streets traffic is calm enough to ride without problems.

It is worth noting that in Poland riding a bicycle on pavement is not allowed except for specifically designated areas:

Bikes are offered for rent in a few private agencies along the coastal promenade during summer: in front of The Sofitel Grand Hotel and Zong Hua hotel.
